Dementia Friendly Communities - Evidence and Learning

The evaluation of our Dementia Friendly Communities initiative is being carried out by HammondCare. HammondCare will produce an interim Evaluation Report in June 2020 and a final report in 2021.

As we have funded, the Trust has also produced three reports to gather more understanding of the benefits of dementia friendly communities.

These reports are intended to share this learning and demonstrate why these communities of support – be they geographical or communities of interest – are so important for keep people living dementia and those who care for them connected supported and empowered, and able to make choices about their own lives.

We have used the learning from these three reports to also design a toolkit for how to make ANY community dementia friendly. You can read it here.

We have also made a short documentary which highlights how some of these communities have benefited people living with dementia and those who care for them, unpaid.
