NEWS: Second Wave of Champions Board Funding announced

Publication date

In 2015, the Life Changes Trust invested an initial £2 million in 10 trail blazing Champions Boards across Scotland and have now pledged a further £2.5 million to double the number of Champions Boards over the next year.

Four local Champions Boards have already been confirmed as securing funding – Perth & Kinross, Moray and Inverclyde will each receive £225,000, and West Lothian will receive £210,000.  Further Champions Boards will be announced in the coming months.

Champions Boards support care experienced young people to develop positive relationships and become active in their communities.  They build the capacity of young people to influence change themselves by showing confidence in their abilities and potential, giving them the platform to flourish and grow.

Heather Coady, Director of the Trust’s Care Experienced Young People Programme said, ““There is a growing network of Champions Boards in Scotland that genuinely work in partnership with young people, pulling on their expertise about how things can be improved in their local areas. Champions Boards show care experienced young people that they are supported, listened to and respected, the impact of which can be transformational”
