We are currently recruiting a Technology and Dementia
Investigator to work with the Trust’s People Affected
by Dementia team.
The purpose of the job is to carry out desk research to draw together existing research, literature reviews and other evidence on the uses of technology to benefit people affected by dementia and people with similar conditions. This information will then be analysed to ascertain the extent to which existing research shows technology being used to directly benefit:
- people living with dementia
- people who are unpaid carers
- people who are paid carers
- medical staff
The main focus of this work will be to meet with people living with dementia and carers in Scotland to find out:
- how they are using existing technology to help them live their life with dementia
- what day to day issues and challenges they encounter which they think suitable technology might be able to address
The culmination of this work will be a report and short film (with support from a professional videographer) which identifies – with strong examples - how the use of technology does and could directly benefit people living with dementia and unpaid carers in their day to day lives.
