Community & Dementia, creating better lives:
Events across Scotland
The Life Changes Trust is pleased to announce the first in a series of 14 Collaborative Learning Events to be held across Scotland. We plan to hold events in Aberdeen, Inverness, Orkney, Shetland, the Western Isles, Ayshire & Arran, Lanarkshire, Forth Valley, Borders, Dumfries, Fife, Tayside, Glasgow and Edinburgh/Lothians.
Event 1: Inverness
The Life Changes Trust, people with dementia, unpaid carers and stakeholder’s from across the Highlands have been working collaboratively over the last 6 months to design this event. We want to innovate, inform and inspire those who attend by providing an opportunity to learn from initiatives and evidence from across the Highlands. This will support local areas to think more deeply about how communities can uphold the human rights of people with dementia and unpaid carers.
The event will take place on the 29th November in Inverness.
- The event programme will consist of short innovative presentations, an interactive and informative marketplace as well as inspiring engagement sessions where we listen to what matters to people affected by dementia in the Highlands, highlighting their priorities and addressing these as a partnership moving forward.
- The event will also include a poster competition - we invite Highland Dementia Initiatives to design a poster that demonstrates their approach to Human Rights, Community & Dementia. You can download the guidelines for the poster competition here. The deadline for poster submissions is Monday 19 November.
Who should attend
People living with dementia, unpaid carers, health and social care staff, the voluntary and independant sector, planning and policy officers.
