Dementia Friendly Pentlands

Dementia Friendly Pentlands was awarded funding of £30,986, to run from August 2017 to July 2018.

This project was a partnership between Volunteer Edinburgh, three Community Councils (Balerno, Currie and Juniper Green) and Balerno Parish Church.

They came together to establish a new dementia friendly community on the outskirts of Edinburgh, and set about building communities that were safe, inclusive and resilient enough to support people living with dementia and their carers, families and friends.

Activities were based on their vision for a community where all were included, where all could experience a sense of belonging and where all could continue to express themselves.
