Queens House Kelso

Queens House Kelso was awarded £225,000 in August 2017, to run until July 2020.

The main aim of this project is to improve motivation and well being for people living with dementia and their carers in the Scottish Borders area of Kelso.

Queens House is using the funding to develop and establish a dementia friendly community resource centre within the building’s new development, called ‘Place and Space’. This resource centre is accessible to people living with dementia across the region and not just those who live in Queens House. The centre is a safe and inclusive space and will include a dementia cafe, a resource centre to support activities to learn new skills and retain old ones, and a space for people living with dementia and their carers to meet other people and share with and support each other. Activities include art, music, gardening and other recreational therapies.
