Our Dementia Programme
Our Young People with Care Experience Programme
We work alongside people living with dementia and unpaid carers of those with dementia, listening to what matters to them and respecting their views and needs.
We fund projects and initiatives that support individuals to feel more able to exercise choice and control in their own lives.
We also support and enable people living with dementia and unpaid carers to come together to influence decisions that affect them.
Our work takes a human rights based approach, acknowledging that people living with dementia and unpaid carers are absolutely the experts in what works best for them.
We work with and listen closely to young people with care experience, listening to what matters to them and respecting their views and needs.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to giving young people with care experience opportunities to express what matters to them and to create spaces where their needs and aspirations can be amplified, so that they themselves can shape our work and also influence change in Scotland.
We work with young people, practitioners and other professionals so that when young people leave care, they have positive life chances and outcomes just like their peers.
